So, for now I have my best-fit type. Unless some contradictory evidence comes along, I'm pretty sure my type is INFP at this point.
I had to chuckle when I read this statement. With Ti in demonic, it seems an INFP can never really know anything. This statement exemplifies this point.
It has seemed to me that a preference for an extraverted Perceiving function keeps an INFP perpetually "uncertain." What dya think?
I've also heard INFPs say that it stems from Aspirational Te -- that Te is how they can be "certain." For instance, I've known INFPs who wish we could use blood samples to ascertain type patterns, because then we would be "sure" and not continue to wonder. So there's something about empirical evidence that's very appealing to INFPs.
What dya think about that?
(What I notice in the INFP pattern is how hyper-self-critical the Ti is, and many INFPs commonly have dreadful self-images. :-/)

I had a crappy self image as a child, but I've assumed that was related to my inability to excel in grammer school and high school, and I've read that it's common for people with learning disabilities to also have horrible self images.

Yes I posted that, and your response was that would be a horrible idea because of whatchacallit cleansing.
I thought that what was behind that was not feeling accepted, so now I'm back to square one. Is not feeling accepted tie to a genuin lack of acceptance toward INFP from the culture, or does it tie into demonic Ti?
Well, Fi of course. Giving wholly over to impersonal, rational, logical Ti would require turning your back on personal, values-driven, feeling-based Fi. Your identity wouldn't be based on "values," but on some kind of assigned algorithm or something. It would come from a "framework" rather than your conscience. Right?

Hm, I wonder about that...

I believe it does. My ISFP friend who knows a lot about type talks about how vicious Ti can be sometimes.
And of course, it's the Shadow of the culture also. :-( So you get it from both places.
Well the culture's attitute is supposed to be changeable, but how do you change it's shadow?
So now I'm wondering why demonic Ti is there. What underlying attribute of INFP is it protecting?

To your culture question -- I'm curious! How might you change the culture's attitude??
